This series, our new series of birthday rosaries is deeplyy inspired by the passages in Genesis, Exodus 28, Psalms 19:2-6 including the ones listed throughout this series. Why do we start with September instead of January? You might be surprised! Read on!

As of the early 1900s, names and substitutes for birth stones were specified by the science of gemology (American Gem Society.) although based on scripture. It is an eye opener and very heart warming to see how involved God was, is, and ever will be!

This really got my attention. Why September?? Then discovered that the 12 constellations tell a story. Written in the stars by God himself to a Jewish people, to tell them about the coming Jewish Messiah. The ancient Hebrew calendar starts in September, not January. If we miss this, we miss the story. September is Virgo (VVirgin / Mary). August is Leo (Lion of Judah, Jesus)

A LOVE STORY
BEGINNING WITH VIRGO
The incredible love story of the heavens written in the stars of the coming of the Jewish Messiah, begins with the first month of the Ancient Hebrew Calendar, September. The fact that the first sign is Virgo, Virgin (September - not in January as does ours) is in itself is a remarkable sign. And that it ends with Leo the Lion of Judah, seems in itself to be another - remarkable sign.

Judah is one of the 12 tribes of Israel, the tribe that carries the lineage of the coming Jewish Messiah. Who wrote it and when? According to scripture, God himself was the author as he numbered and named all the stars. The early documents we have included are from the Old Testament and often quoted in the New Testament.

The story comes down through the ages from the time of the fall of Adam and Eve. (Before the fall, Adam had the gift of infused knowledge). Did Adam know this story of hope and tell Seth? Then Seth to Enoch, Noah and Abraham - onward? One generation at a time? Did God give his fallen children a promise of hope and redemption for all to see, in the heavens above?

What a perfect page to write this story of hope on - as the same sky is over the heads of all his children. Job (the oldest book in the bible) seemed to know this well. Follow the story and decide for yourself. (NOTE: sky maps differ slightly from northern to southern hemisphere but the constellations remain the same and the story remains in them.)

SCRIPTURAL ORIGIN of BIRTHSTONES
The birthstones we use today are rooted in the 12 tribes of Israel and the breastplate stones of the ancient priests garments (see background image.) God selected each stone and named each one after one of the 12 tribes of Israel according to their birth. (see Exodus 28: 6 ) They were given to Moses by God These stones were recorded in the Old Testament using generic, root names and source of stone (turquoise - Turkey). Various Old Testament interpretations differ in placement and names on the Ephod, the Breastplate of Decision.

GOD, CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE
COULD HE? WOULD HE? DID HE?
The response to this site has been deeply encouraging and beautiful but there are a few who still show concern about the possibility of this leaning towards the reading of horoscopes. Recent Astrology has done a powerful job of influencing us to believe this.

The truth is that the devil has created and perverted the story of the heavens. This perversion has lead us to have other gods before us which is against the teachings of the church. (If you were the devil would you want to hide this message of hope from God's people? If so, how would you have changed the message in the stars?)

Uncovering God's original salvation message is not easy. But our God is clear about creating, arranging and naming the stars for a specific purpose. Scripture assures us of this and many of these stars still carry their ancient names to back his word. Ask yourself, 'could he?', 'Would he?' Decide for yourself.

ITS NOT 'ALL ABOUT ME'
Horoscopes are 'all about me'. Horoscopes lead to 'my future' If I read my horoscope according to my birth date and the position of the stars, I am being misled to information about 'my future'.

ITS ABOUT 'ALL ON EARTH'
If we understand the original purpose of the message written in the stars, we are being given hope in the Jewish Messiah for each of us - for all on earth. Always consider where it leads. HAVE ROOTS IN HOROSCOPES
What we know as the star constellations - pictures in the night sky - are often called in English the "signs of the Zodiac", is known in Hebrew as "the Mazzeroth", star constellations placed by God Himself, Job 38:31; Isaiah 13:10; Amos 5:8. This placement of the stars by God was done to tell the Gospel plan of redemption before the Bible was put into writing. The word Zodiac is a term used in astronomy, Job 9:9 (lb). God’s message in the stars where the book of creation speaks to man of God's awesome power, Psalm 19:1–6 (Note words “speech,” “language,” “voice” in the text. Then compare verses 7–13.).

THE BIBLE CONDEMNS ASTROLOGY
The science of Astronomy is NEVER to be confused with ASTROLOGY which is fortune telling and the Bible condemns. ASTRONOMY is the science dealing with the phenomena outside the earth’s atmosphere but especially concerned with the observable arrangements, motions, and characteristics of the heavenly bodies planets, stars, asteroids and universes in space. The word “astronomy” is based on two Greek words meaning “the law of the stars.”

ASTRONOMY AND ITS VALUES
Astronomy is by no means a modern science. Human beings have always been preoccupied with the heavens. The concern of the earliest civilizations with the universe appears to have been mainly intellectual curiosity and the need for navigational orientation were certainly additional factors. (Also remember the star of Bethlehem that guided the 3 kings to the child Jesus. They have been called 'readers of the stars', and 'astronomers'. The term astrologers is questionable)

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?
The Bible provides some interesting insights about astronomy. According to Genesis 1:14–19 the sun and moon, along with the stars, have the function of giving light on the earth, determining the seasons, and functioning as “signs.” The word “season” may denote festal seasons as well as the annual seasons. The Hebrew calendar was a lunar-solar calendar similar to that of the Babylonians. Hebrew festal seasons were based on the phases of the moon. The function of the heavenly bodies as signs seems to relate to their delineation of the heavens, permitting human beings on earth to orient themselves, navigate land and the high
seas and know the stars were created by God.

In his book, The Real Meaning Of The Zodiac, Dr. James Kennedy echoes such ideas, pointing out that the ancient signs of the Zodiac record a singular and original revelation kind of Gospel in the stars and that the message of the stars, although converted into astrology after the fall of man into sin, originally recorded the Gospel of God. He writes:

There exists in the writings of virtually all civilized nations a description of the major stars in the heavenssomething which might be called their "Constellations of the Zodiac" or the "Signs of the Zodiac," of which there are twelve. If you go back in time to Rome, or beyond that to Greece, or before that to Egypt, Persia, Assyria, or Babylonian regardless of how far back you go, there is a remarkable phenomenon: Nearly all nations had the same twelve signs, representing the same twelve things, placed in the same order....The book of Job, which is thought by many to be the oldest book of the Bible, goes back to approximately 2150 B.C., which is 650 years before Moses came upon the scene to write the Pentateuch; over 1,100 years before Homer wrote the Odyssey and the Illiad; and 1,500 years before Thales, the first of the philosophers, was born.

In chapter 38, God finally breaks in and speaks to Job and to his false comforters. As He is questioning Job, showing him and his companions their ignorance, God says to them: "Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?" (Job 38:31,32).

We see here reference to the constellations of Orion and Pleiades, and the star Arcturus. Also in the book of Job there is reference to Cetus, the Sea Monster, and to Draco, the Great Dragon. I would call your attention to Job 38:32a: "Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?" Mazzaroth is a Hebrew word which means "The Constellations of the Zodiac."

In what may be the oldest book in all of human history, we find that the constellations of the zodiac were already clearly known and understood....Having made it clear that the Bible expressly, explicitly, and repeatedly condemns what is now known as astrology, the fact remains that there was a God-given Gospel [universally acknowledged original revelation] in the stars which lays beyond and behind that which has now been corrupted.

In his book Dr. Kennedy strongly condemns the practice of astrology, while asserting his view that the constellations of the zodiac were likely given by God to the first man as "record-keepers" of the original revelation of God.
