(Diary of St. Faustina,47-48) + ABOUT ST FAUSTINA 1905-1938 On September 13 and 14th of 1935, Jesus gave Sister Maria Faustina Kowalska, (Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy in Poland) words to pray, which she wrote in a diary . He spoke to her many times about these prayers and told her that there were promises attached. He said that it pleased him to grant everything asked of him that was within his will. He also told her that very special promises were given at the hour of death, such as the grace of conversion and a peaceful death. + MARIA FAUSTINA KOWALSKA

DECLARES A HOLY YEAR OF MERCY Rome, Italy, Mar 13, 2015: During his Lenten penitential service homily, Pope Francis announced an extraordinary Jubilee to start at the end of the year, which will be dedicated to a theme close to the pontiff's heart: mercy. + "Dear brothers and sisters, I have thought about how the Church can make clear its mission of being a witness of mercy," the Pope told attendees of his March 13 penitential liturgy in St. Peter's Basilica. + "It's a journey that starts with a spiritual conversion. For this reason I have decided to declare an Extraordinary Jubilee that has the mercy of God at its center. It will be a Holy Year of Mercy." + The biblical passage for the Holy Year's theme is from Luke Chapter 6 verse 36, in which Jesus tells his disciples, "Be merciful as your Father is merciful." + "I am convinced that the whole Church will be able to find in this Jubilee the joy of rediscovering and making fruitful the mercy of God, with which we are all called to give consolation to every man and every woman of our time," Francis said, and entrusted the Holy Year to Mary, Mother of Mercy. |

OF THE SISTERS OF OUR LADY OF MERCY 1570 (143) + 0 Greatly Merciful God, Infinite Goodness, today all mankind calls out from the abyss of its misery to Your mercy~to Your compassion, 0 God; and it is with its mighty voice of misery that it cries out. Gracious God, do not reject the prayer of this earth's exiles! 0 Lord, Goodness beyond our understanding, Who are acquainted with our misery through and through, and know that by our own power we cannot ascend to You, we implore You. anticipate us with Your grace and keep on increasing Your mercy in us, that we may faithfully do Your holy will all through our life and at death's hour. Let the omnipotence of Your mercy shield us from the darts of our salvation's enemies, that we may with confidence, as Your children, await Your final coming~that day known to You alone. And we expect to obtain everything promised us by Jesus in spite of all our wretchedness. For Jesus is our Hope: Through His merciful Heart, as through an open gate, we pass through to heaven.
